Fall 2012 Beauty Trend Alert: It’s All About Nude
As I mentioned in a previous post, celebs are rocking nude hues these days and the fall 2012 trend is one of my faves. (Of course, there are always a few stragglers, like Nicki Minaj, who seemed to have missed the memo that cotton candy pink lips are out. But rest assured, nude is in.) Read on for deets on the look and one of Dior‘s most exciting, invisible products! Yes, invisible!
Dior’s nude fall collection is just gorgeous. It’s understated and subdued but that’s not to say it isn’t trendy and gorgeous, too. I’m super obsessed with the Rouge Dior Nude Lipsticks ($36 each). They’re so buttery soft and the barely-there shades are perfect for enhancing the natural shade of your lips.
The coolest product in the collection? The Rouge Dior Contour Universal Liner ($28). This liner is absolutely transparent. I know – it sounds like insanity! I had to try it myself to understand it. It’s literally a clear liner that doesn’t show but it does keep your lipstick from bleeding and can be used with any colour. It dramatizes the contour of your lips and makes all your lipsticks looks like they were applied with a precise brush. I’m never buying a coloured lip liner again.
The Rouge Dior Vernis ($24) in Charnelle, Trench, Grege and Dune, are earth toned neutrals that will carry your fingertips from fall into the winter. I’m already hooked on Grege – the shade destined to be a best-seller.
If you really want to brighten your eyes, I recommend the Dior 3 Couleurs Glow in Ivory Glow ($49). It’s perfect for illuminating the inner corners of the eyes, outer corners and brow bones. It’s so subtle but it catches the light just right and really shines.
Remember that pulling off a nude makeup look means having a fab complexion to start with. Yeah, I don’t have one either but I fake it really well with Diorskin Nude Fluid ($48). It’s a super light foundation that doesn’t even feel like makeup. I use the Dior Full Coverage Fluid Brush ($45 – top right) to apply the liquid all over and then I use the Dior Full Coverage Powder Brush ($55 – across) to stomp the product and blend it into my skin for a natural flawless-looking finish.
The collection is available at Dior counters now. Select products are also available at Sephora.
Are yo into the nude trend?
